This is one of the finest tubes,I own. The sound quality is superb,it has a smoothness, and deep strong bass, that other tubes do not have. It also has the lowest noise levels,I have ever heard. It is my go to tube, when I am searching for, strong sound quality, low noise, and deep strong bass.

I'm not an expert by any means. But I have listen to Chinese tubes, old American tubes, British Mullard's, and Russian military tubes. But I still don't know how to tell a real Telefunken from a fake other than Googling and Youtube videos. So I took a chance and bought one, and hoped for the best. But when I plugged this tube in to my headphone amp with my HD6XX's. My ears went to wonderland. Worth the 80+ dollars I paid for it. (Even if I don't know what I bought because of my own ignorance) I've been using it for a while now and the more I've used it the better it sounds. I guess it had to be broken in. I was using a Mullard but they're not really great for today's music. This Telefunken was crisp and clean in all ranges. High output. How ever like I read it's great for pure reference sound so you'll have to boost the bass on your sound source or used semi or closed back headphones. Which isn't true with my Mullard. But I knew this when buying so I was extremely happy. You can even use this Telefunken for Techno music with out it being muddled. I read somewhere that these high output Telefunkens were not used for audio back in the day. But for things like tube based computer operations and what not. Which I found out why they're so good for reference sound. (from google research.) In the end if you're looking for a good tube... I'd trust the person I bought this from. Thanks a lot.Read full review

NOS versions of these are becoming rare as hen's teeth, and even if you can find some, one is confronted with a fairly significant cost! Tested, lightly used is the way to go!

I purchased a similar pair after discarding the new production JJ's in my recently purchased Rogue RP-1 preamp . I've rolled RCA JAN 12AU7WA black plates , NOS Mullard , NOS Tungsram, NOS Tesla, NOS Phillips SQ. The Telefunken has the flattest and most open sound . The Phillips are too bright on top and the Mullards are too veiled . I purchased this pair as a spare . I'm running a Dennis Had SEP into Zu Omens . So give the Telefunken a try , you won't be disappointed .

Tubes sound great. Clear, open, low noise floor and plenty of detail. Significant improvement over stock JJ tubes.
